BMW Vehicle Showcase //

Project Overview:

Working with two luxury brands like Edmonton BMW & Mini Edmonton was an amazing opportunity. While each brand has a distinct voice and target market they both have one thing in common: their customers love nice cars. 

 

This project started as a vehicle merchandising effort to increase website conversions. It was a video series meant to give curious customers a digestible way to learn about our vehicles in a short and snappy video. The response was massive. The star of our videos James Leigh quickly became the most recognized person at the dealership despite not being an actual car salesman himself. He was instead designated the product genius, a designated role in each dealership that was the vault of all-things BMW. His amazing knowledge of the vehicles mixed with some natural enthusiasm and charisma made James an the perfect star for the series. 

 

Spanning over 3 years Alexander and James created nearly seventy five BMW/Mini walk around videos. These videos generated the dealerships tons of views, engagement, and ultimately sales.

The original goal was to increase the conversions on our website. We quickly found that models with up-to-date vehicle walkaround videos performed extremely well compared to those without. Quickly it was decided that we needed to create a Product Genius video for every model as soon as the new edition came out. Each vehicle model page that featured a product genius video had double the on-page time compared to pages without.

We quickly started posting our videos to YouTube & Facebook with a massive interest on Facebook due to follower engagement. While some of the comments were purely positive and kind others were more on the controversial side. Some people disliked certain models and vehicle design choices and we allowed the comment sections to fill with interactions knowing it was only boosting our exposure.

Overall this was a huge success and at the same time, a lot of fun. Getting to drive and film BMW's newest vehicles was a great time.

Short Form Content:

With video content trending towards shorter and shorter forms we decided to add an additional video segment to our channel called 'BMW Quick Facts'.

This series included short form videos showcasing a small fun fact about BMW or a specific BMW model. These made for light viewing, kept our brand top of mind, and were very quick to produce and edit. Overall this was a great addition to the walk around style videos and only helped to boost our marketing efforts.
